The chairs for solitude, friendship, and society: Henry David Thoreau and Gavin

“I had three chairs in my house; one for solitude, two for friendship, three for society.” ~ Henry David Thoreau

It seems that Wyatt and Jonah believe that Gavin is dozing in the “chair for friendship or society.”

However, Gavin is of the opinion that he is in the “chair for solitude.”

In the words of Thoreau, “There are times when we have had enough even of our Friends.”
