I’m heading out of town May 11 to 18 for “orientation and mobility training.” The classes are an intensive one week program offered by Guide Dogs for the Blind.
The instructors have asked that I leave my guid dog, Jonah, at home so that I can concentrate on my orientation and mobility skills. This is an understandable request. However I will miss Jonah and the rest of the pack members. I’m sure the gang will be in good hands with the Lady of the House whom I will particularly miss.
In the meantime…

It will be just me and my white cane.
Thank you. The instruction was grand.

Sounds as if you are headed for an adventure in learning. Good luck! I suspect Jonah will miss you as much as you miss him.

We always miss our dogs when we are on the road, no matter how much fun we’re having. Safe travels, and hoping you get a lot out of the orientation.

You are a brave man, John. And you can definitely know that your pack will be here when you return, and that they will be extremely glad to have you back!
