Labor Day Weekend began with Jonah proving his worth “on the job”.
Parking lots pose a risk. Vehicles can leave their space by backing up without being noticed until it is too late. The preferred alternative is to use a sidewalk, thus avoiding the need to walk in the car park behind vehicles.

There are sections in my routes which have no footpaths. The only way to access the front door of my intended destination is by walking down the middle of the car area.

Jonah came to an abrupt stop. I had not heard the car engine as it’s sound was masks by the noise of nearby traffic. I am not sure when, if ever, the driver noticed us waiting.

Had Jonah noticed the vehicle moving, or the engine sound, or the tail lights? One thing is certain, namely: Jonah began the Labor Day Weekend in a professional, expert, and skilled manner.

In the words of Samuel Gompers, “Labor Day is devoted to no man, living or dead, to no sect, race or nation.” And I might add “…and the celebration includes guide dogs”

”
HAPPY LABOR DAY WEEKEND. Sleep Well!
No time off for guide dogs, right, Jonah? Great job, buddy.
