On the eve of our July 4th Democracy fireworks, our dogs have apprehension about the fireworks, while my anxiety is about democracy. Perhaps Shakespeare gives some guidance..

“Be wary then; best safety lies in fear.”

“Of all base passions, fear is the most accursed.”

“To be furious, is to be frighted out of fear.”
Quotes attributed to William Shakespeare
Anxiety attributed to me.
Yes, I agree. We are not alone.

That last quote describes us “Mama Bears!” I’ve also been trying to prepare myself for the worst at the end of this election, but so far hasn’t worked.

Fear and anxiety are no fun, but I enjoyed your post and the comparison. Fitting quotes!

As a Canadian even I am furious and in fear for what this means for the world. And YES, let’s not lose our sanity in fear. We did not have fire works in the last few years because of the dry weather as we are prone to forest fires in BC. My dogs are very happy.
p.s. Thanks for celebrating our national day on July 1st!!

I’ll aim for furious, once I stop being so weary and dismayed…..
